From David Wojnarowicz Knowledge Base
The New Museum of Contemporary Art was founded in 1977 by Marcia Tucker. In 1990, David exhibited at The Decade Show: Frameworks of Identity in the 1980's. The museum gave Wojnarowicz a wall in a small room to work with. He recruited Judy Glantzman for help and created America: Heads of Family/Heads of State.
