Ensslin, John

Ensslin is a poet, editor, and journalist. He and Wojnarowicz met when they both worked in the original Pottery Barn in Manhattan in 1973. Ensslin organized poetry readings in New York and New Jersey in the 1970s. He also edited the mimeographed magazine Novae Res, the sole issue of which was published in April 1974, and included poetry and drawings by Wojnarowicz. He and Wojnarowicz became close friends, and briefly roommates in 1975. They co-founded a poetry journal RedM together, which produced one issue in 1977.
