Von Praunheim is a German filmmaker. He directed the 1990 documentary Silence=Death, which examined AIDS through the experiences of gay male artists. With the help of Marion Scemama, Wojnarowicz created a 4 minute short film piece (see A Fire in My Belly case study) for Silence=Death. Von Praunheim also included clips of Wojnarowicz reading his own work, and interviews of him.
